Spring training is almost upon us and we started our first live show of February talking with Scott Hanish and Jason Jarvis of Zinger Bats. Zinger is an Arizona-based bat company that supplies a number of Major Leaguer’s and they’ve just sent out their supply of bats to Spring Training. Scott and Jason talked with us about why bats are splintering, what makes good bats and why some companies bone their bats.
Following that, we spoke with former Royals outfielder and First Baseman Pete LaCock. LaCock was a veteran of the greatest Royals teams of all time. Greg Pryor, Jeff Logan and Chris Kamler talked with Pete about playing from 77 to 80 with the Royals and whether Pete liked playing for the Royals or the Cubs better.
We finished this week’s episode talking about what the Opening Day roster might look like along with what needs to happen between the start of Spring Training with the start of Opening Day.
